Yuri Nikolayevich Adelung

Yuri (Georgy) Nikolayevich Adelung was a Russian poet, bard, geologist, and industrial climber. 

He was born on April 3, 1945 in Moscow and he studied at the Moscow Institute of Railway Engineers for three years. He worked as a geologist and industrial climber. Adelung began writing songs in 1962. He was associated with the "First Circle" (Prvi krog) songwriting group. The group included Vladimir Berezhkov and Viktor Luferov. His songs reflected his experiences in rafting trips and mountaineering.

Adelung died on January 6, 1993, in Moscow while working on a high-rise building.
